Energy Transition Mechanism Partnership Trust Fund (ETMPTF)

The Energy Transition Mechanism Partnership Trust Fund (ETMPTF) is a multiple-partner trust fund established in June 2022 to enable resource mobilization for the Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM) and allocation of support to related activities. The ETM is a transformative financing mechanism, which aims to catalyze public and private capital to accelerate the transition from carbon-intensive coal-based power plants to clean energy in the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB)’s developing member countries (DMCs). The ETMPTF aims to support the ETM activities for the early retirement of coal-based generation assets and the transition to clean energy in DMCs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Energy Transition Acceleration Programme (ETAP)

ETAP supports the state-owned energy provider PT PLN in successfully shaping and accelerating the just energy transition in Indonesia. KfW on behalf of the German Government and PT PLN signed a grant of EUR 6.5 million in December 2023.

CIF-ACT’s program aims to support developing countries that are heavily reliant on coal to accelerate the transition away from coal to renewable energy while ensuring a holistic, integrated, socially inclusive and gender-equal transition. The program is structured around three pillars of governance, people and communities, and infrastructure. Indonesia along with South Africa, India and the Philippines was selected as a pilot country under CIF-ACT.

Indonesia Policy Dialogue Fund (IPDF)

IPDF aims at strengthening KfW’s policy dialogue activities to support the Government of Indonesia in identifying and implementing further innovative and sustainable policy reforms in various investment related sectors, including energy. It finances technical assistance services to support: (1) definition, implementation, and evaluation of policy reforms financed by KfW via policy loans; and (2) preparation, monitoring, and verification of result-based loans.
