DESCRIPTION
The project “Support for Infrastructure Investments in Indonesia (S4I)” supports the institutional, technical as well as project preparation capacities of Perseroan Terbatas Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (PT SMI). S4I comprises the following four components: I) Support to Environmental and Social Safeguards Systems (ESS); II) Technical in-house expertise; III) Consulting on procedural reforms and IV) Project Development Facility (PDF).
Components I-III are being implemented by an Implementation Consultant (IC), while the Project Development Facility is carried out by other consultancy assignments which conduct the respective project preparation assignments.
● Allocation for component I-III = EUR 5.2 million
● Allocation for component IV (PDF) = EUR 10.88 million
Which total to EUR 16,080,000 EUR received by PT SMI.
EU clarified the discrepancy between EUR 16.08 mn received by PT SMI versus EUR 17.1 million in EU's contribution as mostly due to management fees paid to the implementing partner managing the EU funds under the S4I facility, as well as communication and visibility costs for the S4I facility.
KEY DELIVERABLES
- Capacity support with regards to project preparation: three completed technical studies and 1 ongoing technical study to support the preparation of renewable energy projects in Sumatera, Java, Bali, and Sulawesi leading to financial close of approx. EUR 30.1 million.
- Capacity support to PT. SMI to improve environmental and social safeguard provisions
